Pulse has officially graduated the first cohort of its Management Accelerator Programme (MAP), a leadership development initiative designed to equip emerging managers with critical leadership skills to succeed in dynamic media and digital environments.
Launched as part of Pulse’s commitment to building internal capacity and fostering professional growth, MAP supports team members transitioning into management roles or already leading small teams. Over six sessions, the programme equips cohorts with critical capabilities in personal management styles, communication, strategic thinking, and solving real business challenges.
“We built MAP to give new and emerging leaders the tools they need to succeed; not just for today’s challenges, but for long-term impact. The success of this first cohort reinforces our belief in investing from within,” said Wamuyu Kiragu, Chief People Officer, Africa at Pulse.
Pulse Management Accelerator Programme is a modular, cohort-based programme focused on core leadership capabilities. Participants begin by exploring self-awareness and personal management styles, then move on to mastering the transition from individual contributor to effective team leader. The programme also builds skills in aligning teams through purposeful communication, delivering constructive feedback, and coaching for growth. In the final stages, participants develop strategic thinking through ROI-focused leadership challenges and present refined solutions for peer and facilitator review.

Pulse MAP is part of the company’s broader vision to nurture leadership and strengthen both individual career growth and organizational excellence across its African markets.
The programme is currently targeted at team members who are already leading small teams of three or more people, or preparing to step into leadership roles within a six-month horizon. Participants are nominated through a structured internal process, coordinated by line managers and HR teams across Pulse markets. With plans to run MAP three times a year, Pulse is ensuring leadership development becomes a sustained and strategic part of its talent pipeline.
